Marx says, like Jesus: "One of you will betray me". (In Portuguese, on the canvas). I painted this panel (may, 1989) six months before the wall of Berlin destruction, two years before the sovietic empire ending, for the Bank Workers Syndicate (Paraíba, Brazil) Restaurant, like Leonardo’s “Last Supper” was made for the Monk’s Restaurant (Milan, Italy).

You see, here, Mao Tse-tung, Ho-Chi-Minh, Trotsky, Allend, Marx, Guevara, Lenin, Stalin, Fidel… and Gorbachev with the hand on the head.

Foi traído por Lênin, que inventou de fazer a revolução num país não-industrializado - a Rússia - quando Marx dissera que o movimento deveria emergir do proletariado, cada vez maior, por conta da Revolução Industrial. Como na Rússia não havia esse proletariado, Lênin formou uma elite de revolucioinário profissionais. Conseguiu, assim, virar a mesa, mas, depois, não teve como sustentar o que fizera.

The problem is all these men have "betrayed" Marxism in some way. All had their own little perks they added to Marxist ideals, and it transformed into their own ideology. But that just goes to show that Marxism is a very difficult concept to comprehend. Slide off just a little bit and you would be in some other ideology, such as Stalinism or Castroism.
Great job anyway!
